From: President, Community Soccer Club Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2009 To: CSC Members Subject: Community Soccer Club eLetter No. 2 Spring 2009 Opening day for our Spring 2009 season is Saturday, April 18, less than a week away. I hope by now all registered players have received calls from their coaches so they know when and where to meet for first practices or games. If for some reason you haven't heard from your coach yet please reply to this email and we'll help you get it sorted out. If you sent in your registration late it is possible that your child is still on a waiting list. With over 1,000 players registered this spring and all teams full, it is unlikely that any waiting list players will be placed on a team at this point. The only possibility is that some players will back out at the last minute, thus opening up a space or two. If you sent in a check with your late registration and do not get assigned to a team your money will be refunded. But mark your calendars now for Fall 2009 registration, which will start on May 30, so you don't miss out next season! If your child needs a Community Soccer Club jersey, please come up to the building about 30 minutes prior to the start of your first game. We'll have plenty of shirts available in all sizes. Price remains at $15.00. All other kit is the responsibility of the parents to obtain, including proper shoes, shin guards, socks that cover the shin guards, and shorts. Sweats or jackets may be worn in cool weather but the CSC jersey must be worn on the outside. Please be aware that there is a new field configuration this season. Check out the map on our website so you'll know where to go on opening day. Otherwise, we'll have plenty of maps posted in the Diamond Sports Center for you to use. Also, due to a mix-up between the registrar and the scheduler the Kindergarten fields got numbered wrong on the player handouts. Instead of 15, 16, and 17 they should be numbered 13, 14, and 15. We'll have signs posted on the fields. All Kindergarten players please meet on field 14 on opening day for a brief presentation. Parking will, once again, be at a premium this spring, at least in the east lot (near the building). The west lot always has plenty of space, so we request that if your games are on fields 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 that you park down there. You will actually end up being closer to your fields and won't run the risk of a fender bender or receiving a parking ticket in the overcrowded east lot. Also, don't park on the grass or along Diamond Street. The Stark County sheriff does take notice! Finally, make your plans now for this summer's British Soccer Camp, coming to Plain Township the week of June 6 for players age 3 - 18. Registrations are already being received, which shows how popular this program is proving to be. So please, those of you who have never experienced this great service that is put on for our club every year visit www.challengersports.com and sign up to find out what all the fuss is about. And for those of you who are delaying signing up then the longer it will take you to get your great FREE replica jersey that many CSC players have already been wearing around town. This special early sign-up offer ends on April 24 so don’t delay any further!
