From: Mark Ostergren, President, Community Soccer Club Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2008 To: CSC Members Subject: Community Soccer Club eLetter No. 1 Fall 2008 Our Spring 2008 schedule is now complete and on behalf of the CSC board I want to thank all our parents, players, and coaches for another very successful season. This past spring we had well over 1,000 players on 84 teams. We also just completed our fourth summer camp operated by British Soccer. Over 115 children participated during the week of June 9. Coming up, let me remind our players between the ages of 8 and 12 about the International Youth Soccer Clinic being sponsored by Timken Company. This free event, to be held on Wednesday, July 2 at Walsh University, will be led by players from Brazil and China who are in Ohio for the annual Continental Cup being held in Cleveland. For more information go to our website, but hurry because participation is limited and the deadline to register is June 20. Now for all you high schoolers who will be entering tenth grade in the fall, we have decided to see if we can open up our recreational program to tenth graders. Currently, we have a division for grades 7 through 9. We want to see if we can get enough tenth graders enrolled to open a division for 9th and 10th graders, which would allow us to go back to the 7th and 8th grade division we had previously. We can't make any promises yet, because we have to see how many registrations we get. If you are interested, please come to our next registration on July 19 or mail your registration in by the deadline of July 21. If we get enough interest, we will set up the program to include 10th graders. If not, we will send your registration and money back. We hope everyone has a fun and safe summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in the fall.
