From: President, Community Soccer Club Sent: Thursday, August 20, 2009 To: CSC Members Subject: Community Soccer Club eLetter No. 2 Fall 2009 Welcome to the Fall 2009 season of Community Soccer Club. Now in our 23rd year, we are looking forward to another successful season of recreational soccer for the children of greater Plain Township. For those of you who have children registered, you should have received a call by now from your child's coach letting you know when and where to meet for practice, or, in the case of Kindergarteners, when to meet on Saturday for your first session. If for some reason you are still clueless, please respond to this email right away giving your child's name and grade and we'll get you the information. A few reminders to be aware of to help make our game days go smoothly. First, if your child needs a CSC reversible jersey, please arrive at Diamond Park about 30 minutes prior to your game on Saturday and come up to the second floor of the building. We'll be selling shirts there. $15 each, get 'em a bit large, and they last for several seasons. Second, Kindergarteners, you will be on field 15 or 16, not 13 or 14 (there was an error in the information given to the coaches). These are near the oil well in the middle of the complex. Look for your coach holding up a silly yellow and blue sign with your team letter on it. Third, all players will receive a certificate for a free soccer ball at Terry's Tire Town (Canton - Fulton Road and Hartville - Kent Ave locations) between now and September 20. This is a special nationwide promotion run by Uniroyal, the idea being you come to the store to get your free soccer ball and they hope you buy some tires. We encourage you to consider this carefully, as the club gets a contribution for every tire sold during this event. The certificate also has a coupon for a rebate worth $40 or $50 off a set of four, depending on the type of tire you buy. Finally, be sure you enter the "Soccer Season Survival" sweepstakes to have a chance to win a whole boatload of goodies necessary to survive the soccer season. Check out the details at www.uniroyaltires.com/sweeps. Finally, please be aware of the limited parking available in the east lot next to the building. DO NOT park in the grass or next to a No Parking sign (duh!). And don't park along Diamond Street. The sheriff likes to cruise by and generate some revenue for Stark County every so often. You already pay enough in taxes. Do yourself a favor and park in the west lot down by the baseball fields and recycling bins. The CSC board members are looking forward to an enjoyable fall season, and we look forward to seeing you out there on Saturday mornings.
