From: Mark Ostergren, President, CSC Sent: Thursday, August 23, 2007 To: CSC Members and Friends Subject: Community Soccer Club eLetter No 1 Fall 2007 To all CSC members and friends, This Saturday is opening day for our Fall 2007 season. Now in our 20th year, we are looking forward to a rewarding and exciting season of youth recreational soccer. All players should have received calls from their coaches by now and, except for the Kindergarten groups, all should have at least one practice session before Saturday. There are a few items you should be aware of. Please note the following if it applies to you: Kindergarten coaches, please come up to the building 20 minutes before your scheduled time on Saturday. We have signs for you to take out to the field so your players can find you based on team letter. And don't forget, all Kindergarten groups will meet on Field 13 at the beginning of their sessions on August 25 and September 1 for a brief presentation. We have about 750 kids registered this Fall, which is about average for the Fall season. Parking is going to be a problem, so I am asking all teams who are playing on Fields 4, 5, 11, 13, 14, and 15 to please park in the WEST lot. Plain Township Parks Department will be checking the lots for illegally parked cars and has told us they will have them towed if necessary. Those of you that need shirts please come up to the building 30 minutes before your game time to purchase one. Price remains at $15.00. New this season, we are offering blue shorts in Youth small, medium, and large sizes, while supplies last. Price is $7.00. If you're not sure which fields are which, you can find a field layout on our website. The website also contains a wealth of information regarding our club, including a Frequently Asked Questions page, all game schedules, coaches names and team numbers, and information about special events and promotions. Speaking of promotions, on Saturday all players will be receiving flyers for the Uniroyal / Terry's Tire Town free soccer ball give-away. You can also enter the "Win a Free Soccer Season" sweepstakes by clicking the link on our website. Also, don't forget the Westfield Cup at the University of Akron's Lee Jackson Field August 31 - September 2. Great collegiate men's and women's soccer in a family-friendly atmosphere, so close to home. Details at www.goZips.com. One final reminder: for the safety and health of all participants there is no smoking allowed on the fields. And, the Parks Department does not allow any pets on the fields. Please abide by these regulations. To those of you who are new to Community Soccer, welcome! And for the returning members, we are glad to have you back. I hope our Spring season will be an enjoyable and rewarding experience for kids, coaches, and parents alike.
