Subject:                                     Community Soccer Club eLetter No. 1 Spring 2012

Season’s Greetings to all Community Soccer Club members and their families!  I have a few items of potential interest to pass along to you so please read on.

Registration for our Spring 2012 season is open and will run through Saturday, March 17.  You can go to our website to download the forms and then either mail them in or bring them in person on March 17, 9:00 am to noon, to turn in your forms and money.  We are pleased that our rates continue to hold steady at $35 for the first child in the family, $30 for the second, and $25 for the third.   No charge beyond that.

CSC reversible jerseys are $15 and will be available on game days upstairs at the Diamond Sports Complex.  We also have a jersey exchange program.  If you bring in a clean, gently used CSC jersey we’ll give you $5 off the purchase of a new jersey.  Or you can trade a used jersey for another used one of larger size for free!  Availability of used jerseys is, of course, not guaranteed.

We’ve also accumulated quite a supply of used soccer shoes donated by folks like you.  Come on March 17 to see if there is a pair that suits your child’s needs.  Used shoes are free.

Hopefully you all know by now about Canton’s professional indoor soccer team, the Ohio Vortex.  Their next two home games are this Friday, December 16 at 8:00 pm, and Saturday, December 17, at 7:00 pm, at the Canton Civic Center.  Tickets are available by mail or at the door.  There is always plenty of exciting soccer action so make plans now to come out this Friday or to another Vortex match sometime this winter!  Schedule is on their website, www.ohiovortex.org/schedule.html.

One last thing to be thinking about for the spring season:  we are working with Challenger Sports, the organization that conducts our annual British Soccer Camp, to provide a special skill development program for our players during the week.   This will be in addition to your regular team practices and will cost about $95 for eight 1 ˝ hour sessions.  This is not cast in stone yet but we will have more information before the spring season starts.

I hope you are excited about the upcoming season.  We look forward to seeing you out at Diamond Park next spring!

Best regards,

Mark Ostergren
